Persen: features of the drug use

Composition and release form

The drug is available in the form of tablets with a soluble coating. They are round, convex on both sides, and brown in color. Packaged in paper packaging with 1-8 foil blisters. Each contains 10 tablets.

The main substances are plant extracts: lemon balm, mint and valerian. Auxiliary components: talc, potato starch, magnesium stearate, lactose, silicon dioxide, crospovidone.

The soluble shell of the tablet form of the drug contains: sucrose, glycerin, calcium carbonate, brown dye, povidone, sodium carboxymethylcellulose.

Adverse reactions and overdose

When taking pills, negative reactions may occur in the form of:

• allergies, manifested by hyperemia, bronchospasms and skin rash;
• Long-term use may cause constipation.

Cases of overdose are possible. Usually happens if more than 60 tablets have been taken. Nausea, vomiting, lethargy, pain inside the body, and dizziness may occur. 24 hours after taking the drug in large quantities, the signs of overdose disappear. No toxic effects are observed. If necessary, you can do symptomatic treatment.

What is Persen medicine for?

The following indications for the use of a sedative are distinguished:

1. Neuroses characterized by anxiety, severe anxiety, agitation and sleep disturbances, when there are no compelling reasons for prescribing potent drugs.
2. Vegetovascular dystonia.
3. The time period after patients discontinue potent sedatives.
4. Prevention of symptoms of psychoemotional disorders among people exposed to stressful situations.

Other information

The drug should be stored at room temperature. Shelf life – 36 months from the date of release. Sold in pharmacies without a doctor's prescription.

Before taking Persen, you need to familiarize yourself with the features of its action and in what cases the tablets will be effective. If during therapy the symptoms do not disappear or the condition becomes even more severe, then you need to seek help from a specialist.

Contraindications

The following contraindications are determined for taking the drug:

1. Pathologies of the biliary tract - cholangitis, stone formation.
2. Low pressure level.
3. Fructose and lactose intolerance.
4. Poor absorption of glucose and galactose.
5. Individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
6. The period of breastfeeding and childbearing.
7. Children under 12 years of age.

Prescribe a sedative with caution to persons with gastroesophageal reflux.

Pharmacology

Tablets are a medicinal product with a sedative and antispasmodic effect. Melissa, valearian and mint extract provides a calming and antispasmodic effect.

In general, after taking the drug there is a decrease in feelings of anxiety and nervousness. There is a noticeable improvement in the condition of people in an excited and emotional state. With insomnia, the patient falls asleep much easier and faster, sleeps more soundly, and does not feel drowsy throughout the day.

Persen has a general effect on the human body due to its constituent components. Therefore, no clinical studies have been conducted. It is not possible to determine the metabolites of the drug.

How to take Persen

According to the attached instructions, the drug is intended for oral administration; the tablets are washed down with the required volume of water.

The dosage for adult patients and children over 12 years of age is 3 tablets up to 3 times a day.

To combat insomnia, it is recommended to use no more than 3 tablets at a time before going to bed, half an hour to an hour before going to bed. The maximum permissible dose per day is 12 tablets.

Long-term use of the medicine is prohibited. You should not drink Persen for more than 6 weeks.

After completion of the treatment course, signs characteristic of drug withdrawal are not recorded.

Instructions for use

The tablets are intended for internal use. Can be taken at any time, regardless of meals. You need to drink enough water.

From 12 years old you can take 2 tablets 2 times a day. The attending physician will be able to prescribe the correct course of treatment.

If a person has insomnia, then you need to take 2 tablets in the evening an hour before bedtime. The maximum permissible dosage is 12 tablets per day.

The duration of continuous treatment should not exceed more than 45 days. After finishing taking the pills, withdrawal symptoms do not appear.

Persen Night

The instructions for using night Persen show that the drug contains the same active ingredients as in regular tablets. But the dosage of valerian extract has been increased to 125 mg. Release form: capsules.

The drug is recommended for use for insomnia associated with increased nervous excitability. It is no longer used to treat daytime symptoms. The dosage is 1-2 capsules, they are taken before bedtime (preferably about an hour before).

The course of Persen Night should not last longer than one and a half months; it is better to limit it to 2-4 weeks.

Additional substances in the tablets include: magnesium stearate, talc, corn starch, crospovidone, lactose, colloidal silicon dioxide, MCC. Persen Cardio

The instructions for use of Persen Cardio are pleasing, at least because it has a different composition, although it is also a herbal preparation.

It is produced by two companies - Sandoz and Lek, so the appearance of the packaging may be different.

Active ingredients: hawthorn extract, passionflower herb. Despite the prefix “cardio”, the annotation does not take us far from other “persons”. The indications are again nervous excitability and irritability, plus vegetative-vascular dystonia and functional disruptions in the heart (frequent manifestations of the above-mentioned excitability and irritability).

Among the purely cardiac indications is a slight increase in blood pressure. That is, not clinical hypertension, but another flashback to neurotic disorders.

Persen Forte

The difference with the previous drug is minimal. The composition is identical. Night Persen's capsules are almost red, with granules inside. In Forte they are brown, with a compressed composition inside.

There are some discrepancies in the instructions. Forte is recommended not only for nighttime, but also for daytime problems - the same irritability, increased nervous excitability... Although in general, of course, it is not clear how two drugs with the same composition can act differently on the body.
