pharmachologic effect
A combined drug, the pharmacological action of which is determined by the vitamins and microelements included in its composition. B vitamins are involved in many metabolic reactions, incl. synthesis of neurotransmitters. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a biological antioxidant and plays an important role in the inactivation of free radicals, increases the absorption of iron in the small intestine, and affects the metabolism of folic acid and the function of leukocytes. Stimulates the formation of connective tissue, bone tissue, normalizes capillary permeability. Calcium takes part in many physiological processes, the functioning of enzyme systems, and the transmission of nerve impulses in combination with magnesium and vitamin B6. Magnesium is involved in various reactions, including protein synthesis, fatty acid metabolism, and sugar oxidation. Zinc as a catalyst activates more than 200 enzymes and is a component of many proteins, hormones, neuropeptides, hormonal receptors, and is also directly involved in the synthesis of coenzymes derived from pyridoxine. Water-soluble vitamins do not accumulate in the body, therefore, in conditions accompanied by an increased need for vitamins and minerals, the amount of vitamins supplied from food may be insufficient.

However, during pregnancy the drug should be taken strictly for medical reasons. The vitamins and minerals contained in Berocca Plus pass into breast milk. There is no data on the safety of the drug when used during lactation.
special instructions
Vitamin C may interfere with urine glucose test results even though it does not affect blood sugar levels. Vitamin C should be stopped several days before such tests. Urine may turn yellow, which has no clinical significance and is explained by the presence of riboflavin in the drug. The drug does not contain fat-soluble vitamins. One tablet of the drug contains the maximum daily dose of vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), so you should not exceed the recommended dose of the drug. One tablet contains 12.5% of the recommended daily intake of calcium and 33.3% of the recommended daily intake of magnesium. However, for the treatment of calcium and magnesium deficiency, taking Berocca* Plus alone is not sufficient. One tablet contains 272 mg of sodium, so patients on a low-salt diet are advised to take Berocca Plus in the form of film-coated tablets. Information for patients with diabetes mellitus One tablet of the drug contains 276 mg of mannitol, which corresponds to 0.028 bread units (BU), and an energy value of 0.66 kcal, so the drug can be taken by patients with diabetes mellitus. Patients taking other medications should consult their doctor before taking Berocca* Plus. Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and other mechanisms that require increased concentration. No effect.
Side effects
Allergic reactions: in very rare cases in very rare cases ( Digestive system: in less than 5% of patients, mild transient gastrointestinal disorders are possible. Blood and hematopoietic system: in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, ascorbic acid can cause hemolytic anemia .
Drug interactions
Pyridoxine in doses greater than 5 mg may counteract the effects of levodopa in patients with parkinsonism. However, such antagonism is not observed when levodopa is used in combination with a decarboxylase inhibitor (eg, benserazide, cardbidopa). Thiosemicarbazone and 5-fluorouracil neutralize the effect of thiamine. Antacids inhibit thiamine resorption. Neomycin, aminosalicylic acid and histamine H2 receptor blockers reduce the absorption of cyanocobalamin. Acetylsalicylic acid reduces the absorption of ascorbic acid by approximately one third. Oral contraceptives can reduce the serum levels of cyanocobalamin, folic acid, pyridoxine, and ascorbic acid. Some patients taking deferoxamine and ascorbic acid 500 mg daily may experience transient left ventricular dysfunction.
Storage conditions
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 C, in tightly closed packaging. Keep out of the reach of children.
Release form
Berocca Plus multivitamin complex is available in the form of effervescent tablets, which have a flat cylindrical shape and a pale orange color with splashes. When dissolved in water, the tablets emit bubbles and form an orange solution with an orange smell.

pharmachologic effect
Vitamins Berocca Plus is a combined preparation, therefore its pharmacological action is determined by the vitamins and microelements included in its composition. B vitamins take an active part in such an important metabolic process as the synthesis of neurotransmitters.
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a biological antioxidant that plays a key role in the process of inactivating free radicals, and also significantly increases iron absorption in the small intestine and affects the functions of leukocytes and folic acid . Ascorbic acid also promotes the formation of bone and connective tissue and the normalization of capillary permeability.
Calcium is involved in almost all not only physiological processes, but also enzyme systems. Calcium, along with magnesium and vitamin B6, an important role in the transmission of nerve impulses.
Magnesium influences protein synthesis and promotes fatty acid metabolism and sugar oxidation.
Zinc acts as a catalyst in the activation of about 300 enzymes. Zinc is a component of many proteins, some hormones, as well as neuropeptides and hormone receptors. But the main function of zinc is still the synthesis of vitamin B6 derivatives (coenzymes).
The drug Berocca Plus contains the entire complex of active ingredients that must be taken in therapeutic doses for conditions that are accompanied by an increase in the need for vitamins. Particular attention to this multivitamin complex should be paid to people who have been exposed to increased physical activity or have been in a state of severe nervous tension for a long period of time.
It is also recommended to take this drug for people who are on restrictive diets , since their nutrition is inadequate or unbalanced. Vitamins have proven themselves well among older people, as well as among those undergoing treatment for chronic alcoholism and nicotine addiction. Women who regularly take oral contraceptives should also pay attention to these effervescent tablets.
Mechanism of action
Berocca Plus is intended to replenish the deficiency of ascorbic acid and B vitamins, to eliminate the symptoms of hypovitaminosis and prevent their development. The main antioxidants included in the drug regulate the activity of free radicals and prevent them from damaging healthy tissues.
- Ascorbic acid strengthens the vascular system, participates in metabolic processes, absorption of nutrients, reduces inflammatory reactions, helps increase immunity, physical strength during intense exercise and nervous tension.
- B vitamins ensure the normal functioning of the central and autonomic nervous system, participate in the synthesis of neurotransmitters, the synthesis of nerve fibers, muscle tissue and mucous membranes, regulate the absorption of fats and proteins, and reduce the risk of cancer.
- Calcium, zinc and magnesium are involved in the processes of basal metabolism, responsible for the production of enzymes and hormones, the synthesis of connective and bone tissue.
These vitamins and minerals do not accumulate in the body, but are consumed continuously, so the supply of these substances from the outside is constantly required. Berocca Plus is an optimally formulated drug, one tablet of which contains a daily dose of ascorbic acid, pyridoxine and a large number of other important elements. This is an excellent additional source of compounds necessary for the body in conditions of poor nutrition, increased nervous and physical stress, and during seasonal diseases.

As a treatment, the patient is recommended to completely stop taking the drug and be sure to consult a doctor for symptomatic therapy.
Interaction
When taking pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) in a dose of more than 5 mg, the process of neutralizing the effect of levodopa may begin in patients who suffer from an illness such as parkinsonism .
Substances such as thiosemicarbazone and 5-fluorouracil neutralize vitamin B1 .
It is also better to avoid using antacid medications, as they inhibit the process of resorption of vitamin B1 .
A decrease in the absorption of vitamin B12 can be caused by substances such as neomycin and aminosalicylic acid .
Concomitant use of histamine H2 receptor blockers causes the same effect.
A significant decrease in serum levels of vitamin B12, folic and ascorbic acid , as well as pyridoxine can be caused by regular use of oral contraceptives .
The absorption of ascorbic acid may decrease by approximately 100% when taking acetylsalicylic acid and Berocca Plus together.
deferoxamine and vitamin C daily not take this drug , as this combination can negatively affect the condition of the left ventricle.
