Artron Complex is a combination drug with chondroprotective effectiveness. Its action is aimed at stimulating regenerative processes in cartilage tissue, as a result of which the mobility of articular surfaces improves, the range of motion in damaged joints increases, and pain in various diseases of the musculoskeletal system decreases.

The drug slows down the processes of degeneration in joint and bone tissue, stimulates the production and synthesis of intra-articular fluid, prevents the development and progression of osteoporosis, and has a positive effect on the tissue structure of the joint.

In patients receiving non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, Arthron Complex slows down metabolic changes and damage to cartilage tissue.

The mechanism of action of the active substances is explained by their ability to stimulate the synthesis of type 2 collagen and proteoglycans. Glucosamine hydrochloride has an anti-inflammatory effect. Chondroitin sulfate normalizes the mineralization of the skeletal system and improves the course of recovery processes after bone fractures.

Pharmacokinetics

The maximum concentration of chondroitin sulfate after a single dose of 500 mg is observed after 3–4 hours in the blood, after 4–5 hours in the synovial fluid. Concentrations in blood plasma are lower than in synovial fluid. Bioavailability is 13–15%. Metabolites are eliminated primarily through the renal system within 24 hours after administration.

The bioavailability of glucosamine hydrochloride is 25–26%. The substance is well distributed in the tissues of the body, reaching the highest concentrations in cartilage tissue, the renal system and the liver.

Due to the metabolism of the drug, water, urea and carbon dioxide are formed. Approximately 30% of the dose taken persists for a long time in the connective tissue. It is excreted in its original form through the kidneys with urine, and partially through the intestines with feces.

Directions for use: The drug is intended for oral use. It is recommended to swallow film-coated tablets whole, without chewing or crushing, with a sufficient amount of liquid. The duration of the course of treatment and the dose of the drug are determined by the attending physician individually for each patient. Adults and adolescents over the age of 15 years are usually prescribed 1 tablet of the drug 1-3 times a day. After achieving the required therapeutic effect, the dose of the drug can be reduced to 1 tablet once a day. The duration of treatment is usually about 3 months. After finishing taking the drug, the therapeutic effect persists for a long time. If necessary, the course of treatment is repeated 1-2 times a year.
