Pharmacodynamics
Novosept Forte contains antimicrobial (bactericidal), antifungal, and analgesic agents, containing some of its active components. Cetylpyridinium chloride is an antiseptic from the group of quaternary ammonium compounds, which can be added to cationic surfactants. Volodya has a bactericidal action against a wide range of gram-positive and, to a lesser extent, gram-negative bacteria. The antimicrobial activity of cetylpiridinium is due to its nonspecific interaction with various components of bacterial cells: membrane, ribosomes, proteins and enzymes, as a result of which the osmotic reaction is disrupted food, metabolism, carbohydrate and protein metabolism, and all this leads to the death of the bacterium. Cetylpyridinium also inhibits various groups of viruses and fungi. Inactive against bacterial spores. Tetracaine hydrochloride is an effective local anesthetic agent that can relieve or reduce pain. Zinc is an oligoelement that stimulates the immune system.
Use during pregnancy
Contraindications.

Interaction with other drugs
Medicines that inhibit cholinesterase (antimyasthenics, cyclophosphamide, demecarium, ecothiophate, insecticides, isofluraphate, thiotepa) reduce the metabolism of tetracaine hydrochloride and increase its toxicity.
When taken simultaneously with anticoagulants (dalteparin, enoxaparin, heparin, warfarin), the risk of bleeding increases.
When used with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (furazolidone, procarbazine, selegiline), the risk of lowering blood pressure increases.
Tetracaine hydrochloride enhances and prolongs the effect of muscle relaxants.
Beta blockers slow down the metabolism of tetracaine hydrochloride, increasing its toxicity (decreased hepatic blood flow).
Zinc is incompatible with silver salts, quinine, ichthyol, citral (forms poorly soluble compounds), with alkali-reactive substances (forms zinc oxide hydrate), with protargol (subject to coagulation).
Zinc reduces the absorption of tetracyclines and copper (should be used no earlier than 2 hours after taking these medications).
Thiazide diuretics increase the excretion of zinc in the urine.
Folic acid may interfere with the absorption of zinc to a small extent.
High doses of iron, penicillamine and other complexing drugs significantly reduce the absorption of zinc (should be used no earlier than 2 hours after taking these drugs).
Cetylpyridinium is not compatible with soaps and other anionic surfactants.
special instructions
If the disease is accompanied by high fever, headache, nausea, and if no improvement is observed within 3 days from the start of treatment, the drug should be discontinued.
Long-term treatment (more than 5 days) can cause an imbalance in the natural microflora of the oral cavity and pharynx with the risk of developing pathogenic bacteria and fungi, which is a contraindication for further use of the drug.
