pharmachologic effect
A drug that improves trophism and tissue regeneration, for external use. It has a regenerating, metabolic and mild anti-inflammatory effect.
Dexpanthenol in the body forms an active metabolite - pantothenic acid, which is an integral part of coenzyme A, is involved in the processes of acetylation, the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats, the synthesis of acetylcholine, corticosteroids, porphyrins. Stimulates the regeneration of skin and mucous membranes, normalizes cellular metabolism, accelerates mitosis and increases the strength of collagen fibers.
PANTODERM (ointment)
look at alternative options...
After all, the use has become systematic, and such frequent purchases of expensive “Bepanten” began to hit the wallet hard.
There are quite a few analogues of this popular ointment. I bought “Dexpanthenol” ointment from OJSC “Tatkhimpreparaty”, as well as an ointment of a similar name from JSC “Vertex”, Avanta universal cream “Panthenol EVO” and much more.
Some of them didn't suit us at all. But most of them turned out to be very effective ointments...
Then why overpay?... After all, there are such inexpensive and no less effective analogues.
But still, the low price of these drugs is not at all easy. It is determined not just by the fact that these ointments were produced in our country... But it is also, of course, related to the quality of the ingredients used, the composition...
After carefully analyzing the compositions of various ointments, I realized that I was not at all happy with what was written there. These formulations often contained allergenic and far from safe parabens (most often methylparaben (the same as nipagin or methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate).
We often had to smear ourselves with such products, so I decided to return again to the safer, proven “Bepanten”, the composition of which completely suited me.
This was for the time being. Once I talked with a pharmacist, I found out for myself that there is another Russian analogue of the expensive and advertised “Bepanten”, which is similar not only in action, but also in composition.
Actually, that’s exactly what I’ll be talking about in my review. Or more precisely, about the ointment for external use “Pantoderm”, manufactured by JSC “Akrikhin”.
-Purchase, cost and availability Only, unfortunately, I did not immediately discover this ointment in the pharmacies of our small town.
Over time, this ointment with d-panthenol appeared, but it is not found everywhere and not always.
On my account so far this is only one pharmacy chain “Cheap Pharmacy”...
You have to somehow adapt, buy several pieces at once. It’s not entirely convenient at times, but where to go...
By the way, about the price. She is, in my opinion, quite acceptable. For a tube weighing 30 g I paid about 250 rubles.
-Packaging, design and convenience The packaging is quite typical for such ointments. In addition to the aluminum tube, there is also a cardboard box with a bright design in white and yellow tones. Everything is very nice, not annoying, the information is perceived well.
The tube looks like this.
It has a twist-off cap with a special tip in the middle, necessary for opening the aluminum tube. In general, this is very prudent...
But I still can’t talk about maximum convenience. This cover caused me some inconvenience and trouble, since it is not as easy and simple to screw on as it is to unscrew.
-Appearance, consistency and smell Fortunately, there were no problems with squeezing out the ointment. The ointment itself looks like this.
As we can see, it is white and uniform in color. And, as is typical for ointments, it has a greasy and thick consistency.
Easily distributed. Actually, this is what the skin looks like after spreading and rubbing in the ointment.
An oily film forms on the surface of the skin. However, this is normal and how it should be.
Using ointment is certainly not the most pleasant option, but I’m already used to it.
The smell is unremarkable, quite typical. Very similar to other ointments with dexpanthenol. I wouldn't say the scent is pleasant. But the main thing is that it is not harsh. It doesn't annoy me at all.
-Effect I used this kind of ointment for manifestations of atopic dermatitis in my daughter. Moreover, we applied it only at the stages of drying out dermatoses, etc., but not with weeping and itchy formations...
To treat the initial stage, I used zinc pastes or ointments.
To be honest, this is already a thing of the past. Lately, my daughter has been bothered by allergic rashes extremely rarely. If they exist, then these are very small pimples that go away in one day.
True, there is dryness and flaking of the skin.
In general, in both cases this ointment helps us very well!
The range of uses of the ointment is quite wide. The instructions describe everything in detail. Therefore, I would just like to note in general that this ointment has a wound-healing effect and also has a metabolic and mild anti-inflammatory effect to some extent.
I did not notice any anti-inflammatory effect from this ointment. In principle, I don’t need this...
And, to be honest, I just discovered for myself that this ointment can have such a weak effect.
The main thing is that the skin regeneration process really accelerates. We have already applied the ointment to wounds and scratches several times, and there is definitely an effect!
The indications for use also include burns. But in such situations, I still give preference to aerosol-type products with d-panthenol.
In general, this ointment is a very worthy option, no worse than the Western “Bepanten”. Inferior neither in efficiency nor in safety...
-Safety, composition Speaking of safety.
I am very attentive to the composition of various products, because we are talking about the health of my loved ones.
I really liked the composition of this ointment. There are no harmful preservatives used here, which I have observed in other Russian-made ointments.
And it is also important to note that the composition of this ointment is indeed very similar to “Bepanten”, but this, of course, is not a 100% analogy.
In general, everything suits me. I feel much calmer with it, although there may be side effects when using it (in the form of an allergic reaction). The manufacturer warns about this.
Fortunately, everything is fine with us. The ointment suited all family members.
-Other
On the side of the package, as in the instructions, there is information about the manufacturer, and there are also recommendations for storing this ointment.
The shelf life is 4 years.
-Conclusion Finally, I found an effective regenerating ointment with a safe composition and an adequate price!
This is the best option for us. I think we will return to “Bepanten” less and less often.
So, I want to summarize all of the above and highlight the pros and cons: + good packaging design; + good effect; + wide range of applications; + safety - very good composition; + normal price;
- ease of packaging - it’s inconvenient to screw on the cap; - availability - difficult to find, not available in every pharmacy.
I really want to give it a high rating, but there are still some disadvantages... And these are a certain kind of inconvenience. Therefore, for now it will be a solid four with further recommendation!
Thank you for your attention! Be healthy!
Contraindications and recommendations for use
Safe components in the composition of the medicine ensure that there are no contraindications to its use. You should not apply it to the skin only if you have an individual intolerance to one of the components. In this case, an allergic reaction may occur: mild itching, redness, swelling.
Pharmaceuticals offers a large selection of Pantoderm release forms. For application to dry skin, it is more effective to choose an ointment: it contains a high proportion of fatty compounds.
If the damage is associated with wet wounds, then the use of cream is recommended: it does not contain fat, so the healing process will occur faster. It is best to treat sunburn with cream. It is easier to rub in and absorb into the skin, so results are achieved faster.
Brief characteristics of the drug
Pantoderm is a viscous ointment of light color, ranging from white to dull yellow, with a specific odor. Most often, the medicine is released in the form of a cream, but there are other forms: aerosol and emulsion. This is a drug of Russian origin, so its prices are affordable in any form of release.
The main ingredient in Pantoderma that provides healing properties is dexpanthenol. The concentration of the component in the medicine is 5%.
The pharmacological effect of the drug is associated with the ability to improve tissue regeneration processes and accelerate metabolic processes. When the active substance enters the body, it produces pantothenic acid, which is an important participant in the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates. In addition to influencing skin restoration processes, pantothenic acid has a beneficial effect on mucous membranes. Results of the action of pantothenic acid:
- regenerative processes in skin tissues;
- stabilization of cellular metabolism;
- increasing collagen strength;
- increased rate of mitosis.
External application of the ointment ensures its rapid absorption and binding to blood proteins. The human body does not process acid, so it is excreted in its original state.
Main indications for prescribing Pantoderma
The drug is prescribed to patients suffering from various forms of skin integrity disorders. Due to the presence of the derivative component coenzyme A, Pantoderm helps with the following symptoms:
- dry skin as a result of low temperatures, high humidity, and prolonged exposure to water;
- presence of minor skin damage (abrasions, scratches, cuts, cracks);
- local burns, including sunburn;
- eczema;
- inflammatory processes: abscesses, boils, ulcers, bedsores, pimples, etc.;
- long and poorly healing wounds received during surgical operations and tattooing;
- cracks in the breast nipples that appear during lactation and feeding.
The mild anti-inflammatory effect allows the ointment to be used to relieve and eliminate the symptoms of inflammation of external tissues. In this case, Pantoderm must be used in combination with other drugs. The product can be used to care for babies.
Pantoderem as an ointment helps the mother fight diaper rash, eliminate erythema from diapers and nappies, and also promote the rapid healing of minor injuries on the baby’s delicate skin.
Instructions for use Pantoderma
Regardless of the release form, the medicine is used only externally. Before rubbing the product in, the skin should be cleaned and disinfected (if there are no wet wounds).

The drug should be applied to the affected area with clean and disinfected hands, one to three times a day. The ointment is rubbed in with soft pressing movements; it is enough to apply the cream in a thin, even layer to the damaged area.
When treating injuries with an emulsion, it must be sprayed from a distance of 10-20 cm several times during the day, covering the entire treated area with a thin layer of medicine.
Using Pantoderm when caring for babies requires a systematic approach. Irritated areas of the baby's skin are treated with ointment every time a diaper is changed or swaddled. When treating damaged areas, it is important to ensure that the drug does not get into the child’s mouth or eyes.
In any form of release, Pantoderm is stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight, out of reach of children or pets. The therapeutic characteristics of the drug are maintained for 2 years after its release.
The maximum permissible duration of treatment with Pantoderm is 1 month.
Despite the absence of pronounced contraindications and side effects, as well as the ability to buy without a prescription, Pantoderm should be used only after consultation with a dermatologist.
