They are eliminated from the body within a day during defecation.
How to take, course of administration and dosage

The active substance of Daflon is diosmine, according to its chemical structure it belongs to the group of natural biologically active compounds with a flavone structure (rhamnoglucoside) close to hesperedin (substituted with a carbohydrate radical). Hesperidin, which is included in Daflon as an excipient, is a flavone compound similar in structure and action to rutin and quercetin. The mechanism of action of diosmin is not fully understood. It appears to be associated with inhibition of catecholamine degradation, mainly through inhibition of catecholamine O-methyltransferase. Four levels of action of diosmin can be distinguished: a) effect on permeability: reduces the permeability and fragility of capillaries (increased under the influence of histamine, bradykinin and unbalanced nutrition); b) effect on hemorheological properties of red blood cells: increases the ability of red blood cells to deform and reduces blood viscosity; c) effect on the tone of the veins: stimulates constant and spontaneous contraction of the smooth muscles of the venous wall; d) effect on lymph circulation: to some extent, diosmin causes dilation of lymphatic vessels and increases the speed of lymph flow, thus improving lymph flow. The drug undergoes active metabolism, which is confirmed by the presence of phenolic acids in the urine.
