Triovit

Triovit is a vitamin and mineral complex, the indications for use of which are determined by its constituent components. Betacarotene is a precursor to retinol. It has antioxidant properties and protects the lipid base of cell membranes from the damaging effects of free radicals. In the process of free radical oxidation, together with other aggressive products, a special active form of oxygen is formed - singlet. Betacarotene ensures its transformation into a more stable triplet oxygen. Alpha-tocopherol is also a biological antioxidant, which protects membrane lipids, enzymes and DNA from free radical oxidation. Ascorbic acid, unlike the two above-mentioned components of Triovit, exhibits antioxidant properties and inactivates free radicals not in a lipophilic, but in a hydrophilic environment. Ascorbic acid, along with alpha-tocopherol, inhibits the conversion of N-nitroso compounds ingested from food into toxic nitrosamines. Selenium is part of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase, which is an antioxidant and inactivates free radicals and peroxide compounds (acts as a catalyst for their reduction), thereby protecting the cell from oxidative damage. Triovit is indicated for a deficiency of beta-carotene, ascorbic acid, alpha-tocopherol in the diet, as well as for a number of conditions and conditions that require an increased supply of vitamins to the body (unfavorable environmental conditions, tobacco addiction, constant exposure to the sun, exhausting physical or mental stress).

Triovit is contraindicated in persons with individual intolerance to one or more components of the drug, hypervitaminosis of retinol or alpha-tocopherol. In pediatrics, the drug can be used starting from the age of 5 (up to 15 years - with caution). Triovit can be taken by pregnant and lactating women if the benefits of pharmacotherapy for the mother outweigh the potential risk of negative consequences for the fetus and child. The optimal time to take it is with food or after taking it. Single dose – 1-2 capsules (for children under 15 years old – 1 capsule). The frequency of administration is 1 time per day. The duration of the medication course is 60 days. Possible adverse reactions (including undesirable ones): the skin acquires a yellowish tint (with prolonged use), change in the color of urine, heaviness in the epigastric region, increased gas formation (occurs when taking the drug on an empty stomach), allergic manifestations (from the skin, bronchi). Symptoms of overdose (nausea, pronounced discoloration of the skin and nail plates) begin to appear when the single dose is exceeded by 7-15 times. In such situations, the drug should be interrupted and the gastrointestinal tract should be cleaned.

Reviews about Triovit

Reviews about Triovit, as well as about any other drug, are different. It all depends on the correct intake and following the instructions. In general, reviews of vitamins are positive. These vitamins for women are suitable even during pregnancy. It is also recommended to take them for mastopathy , since this disease can be caused by a lack of vitamins.

Pharmacological properties of the drug Triovit

Complex vitamin preparation. Vitamins C, E and betacarotene are active antioxidants, and selenium is part of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase. Antioxidant vitamins and selenium mutually potentiate each other's effects. They protect cellular structures from the damaging effects of free radicals, improve the functioning of the immune system and the body’s overall resistance, and reduce the likelihood of developing cancer, cardiovascular diseases and age-related cataracts. Triovit increases the immune status and nonspecific resistance of the body, reduces the likelihood of developing cancer, cardiovascular diseases and cataracts. Betacarotene is a provitamin of vitamin A (retinol). As a natural antioxidant, it protects the cell membrane from damage by free radicals. During the chain reaction, in addition to other free radicals, chemically highly reactive singlet oxygen is also formed, which is converted into a more stable triplet form with the help of beta-carotene. Vitamin E (tocopherol) in a lipophilic environment acts as a biological antioxidant, protects lipids and other substances (enzymes, DNA) of membranes and other cellular structures from oxidation by free radicals in the cell. With the participation of tocopherol, a more stable and less active tocopheryl radical is formed, which, in the presence of ascorbic acid and enzymes, is again reduced to the original tocopherol. Vitamin E has an antiatherogenic effect, preventing the formation of primary damage and oxidation of LDL. Thanks to this, vitamin E prevents the formation of atherosclerotic plaques in blood vessels. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) in a hydrophilic environment acts as a biological antioxidant. It reacts with free radicals, resulting in the formation of a more stable ascorbic acid radical, which is then converted back into ascorbic or dihydroascorbic acid through various reactions involving glutathione peroxidase. Vitamin C combined with vitamin E prevents the formation of toxic nitrosamines from N-nitrosic compounds found in food products. Selenium - the oligoelement selenium is a component of the antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase, which removes peroxides and free radicals from the cell. The pharmacokinetics of the drug have not been studied.

pharmachologic effect

Triovit contains antioxidant vitamins C and E and b-carotene (provitamin A), the oligoelement selenium. Fat-soluble antioxidants - vitamin E (a-tocopherol) and provitamin A (b-carotene) protect membrane lipids from oxidation by free radicals formed in the cell, neutralize free radicals by blocking their unpaired electron. Vitamin E acts as an antiatherogenic agent, prevents the oxidation of low-density lipoproteins, and reduces the risk of the formation of cholesterol plaques in blood vessels.

Water-soluble ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is involved in the bioregeneration of a-tocopherol, protecting it from destruction.

The antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase, which includes selenium, neutralizes the most toxic products of free radical oxidation - lipoperoxides, which prevents the formation of toxic aldehydes and new free radicals. Free radicals have a negative impact on health when they are produced in excess in the body. The body's own defense systems can no longer maintain the balance of free radicals, which leads to cell damage.

Antioxidant vitamins are active at the cellular level, they complement each other’s activity, so the combination of vitamins (vit. A, E, C) and selenium is rational. The protective properties of antioxidant vitamins are manifested in increasing the body's resistance to adverse environmental factors, enhancing the body's protective properties, anti-inflammatory effects, and helping to slow down the aging process of the body.

Indications

Triovit capsules are recommended for use in adults and children over 15 years of age (on the recommendation of a doctor for children over 10 years of age):

  • with a deficiency of antioxidant vitamins and selenium;
  • with malnutrition and an unbalanced diet;
  • when working in hazardous production conditions;
  • when living in regions with unfavorable environmental conditions, in particular in large cities;
  • with nicotine addiction;
  • when exposed to active solar radiation (summer tan);

Dosage regimen

Triovit capsules are not recommended for children under 15 years of age. Children over 10 years of age can take one capsule per day under medical supervision.

It is recommended to take 1 - 2 capsules of Triovit per day. Capsules should be taken orally, after meals, with a small amount of water. The course of treatment is 2 months, repeated courses on the recommendation of a doctor.

Side effect

In rare cases, allergic reactions to individual components of the drug are possible.

With long-term use of the drug, b-carotene contained in capsules can cause yellowing of the skin and discoloration of urine; these phenomena are safe, do not require discontinuation of the drug and disappear after stopping use. Triovit should be taken after meals, otherwise a feeling of heaviness in the stomach or flatulence may occur.

Azo dyes E122 and E123, which are part of the capsule shell, can cause allergic reactions including bronchospasm. More often, allergic reactions occur in individuals with hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid.

There are known cases of urticaria caused by parahydroxybenzoates. They usually cause a delayed type of reaction, such as contact dermatitis. In rare cases they cause immediate type reactions with urticaria and bronchospasm
