Eye drops Type of chest of drawers: instructions for use and reviews

Vid-Komod are ophthalmic drops with a moisturizing effect, which are often prescribed for dry eye syndrome and other conditions accompanied by unpleasant sensations in the organ of vision. The drug is also used when using contact lenses. A convenient medicine of German quality moisturizes the cornea well, relieves the eyes from pain, irritation, burning and itching.

Composition, form, packaging of drops

Vid-Komod eye drops are a sterile aqueous solution containing povidone (20 mg) as the active ingredient. Auxiliary components are represented by the following components:

  • sodium salt of citric acid;
  • caustic soda (sodium hydroxide);
  • anhydrous citric acid;
  • sorbitol;
  • purified water.

The drops are produced by the German company Ursapharm Arzneimittel GmbH.

Vid-Komod eye drops 10ml

Compound

1 ml of sterile aqueous solution contains: active ingredient: povidone 20 mg, excipients: sodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, sorbitol, water.

Pharmacokinetics

The medical product Vid-Komod is a sterile aqueous solution of povidone without preservatives. The drug has the necessary viscosity, with good adhesive properties, due to which it forms a uniform, long-lasting precorneal tear film. The film is not destroyed by blinking and does not cause a decrease in visual acuity. Therefore, the eye is protected from dryness and irritation, which often occurs when contacting the environment or wearing contact lenses.

The use of Vid-Komod makes the use of contact lenses more comfortable without depositing on their surface.

The original "KOMOD" container is a specific reservoir system that guarantees protection against air penetration and ensures the extraction of the same drops, regardless of the degree of force applied.

The metal parts of the container in contact with the sterile solution are partially coated with a layer of silver, which ensures reliable protection of the solution even in the absence of preservatives.

Indications for use

For additional hydration of the front surface of the eye (cornea and conjunctiva), eliminating discomfort from a feeling of dryness, foreign body sensation, burning in the eyes, incl. arising under the influence of:

  • climatic factors (conditioned air in a car, airplane, wind, cold, intense solar radiation, environmentally unfavorable air or cigarette smoke),
  • intense visual stress (during prolonged work with a computer, camera, excessive time spent in front of the TV, the need to drive vehicles at night),
  • wearing soft and hard contact lenses.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of the components included in the solution.

Directions for use and doses

The solution should be instilled 1 drop into the conjunctival sac of each eye 4-5 times a day.

If necessary, you can instill more often.

The frequency of use of the solution is set individually, as needed and according to the recommendations of an ophthalmologist or contact lens specialist.

There are no restrictions on the duration of use of Vid-Komod.

When wearing hard and soft contact lenses, it is possible to instill the solution into the conjunctival sac without removing the lenses.

Pharmacological qualities

The moisturizing effect of Vid-Komod eye drops is based on the substance povidone - a water-soluble polymer composed of monomeric units of N-vinylpyrrolidone. The solution has the required viscosity and is characterized by high adhesive interaction. Thanks to these qualities, a durable moisturizing film is formed on the surface of the eye, which for a long time is not washed away by tear fluid when blinking. The drops not only have a moisturizing effect, but also a protective one, protecting the cornea from the negative effects of external factors.

The protective film does not reduce visual acuity. The active component of the drops has some disinfection properties and the ability to bind toxins.

The ophthalmic solution contains no preservatives, which makes it safe for eye tissue. Vid-Komod is suitable for long-term use.

Pharmacological properties

The medical device VID-KOMOD is a sterile aqueous solution of povidone 2% in an original container (KOMOD system).

The drug does not contain preservatives and is not deposited on the surface of the lenses.

An aqueous solution of povidone has optimal viscosity and is characterized by high adhesive properties in relation to the anterior surface of the eye, due to which it forms a uniform precorneal tear film on the surface of the cornea, which persists for a long time, is not washed off when blinking, and does not reduce visual acuity. It protects the eye from dryness, irritation and other phenomena that often occur when wearing contact lenses and exposure to negative environmental factors.

The use of VID-KOMOD solution allows you to make wearing contact lenses more comfortable.

The drug is packaged in an original container, which is a complex system of reservoirs and valves that prevents the penetration of air into the bottle and ensures the extraction of drops of the same size and at the same speed, regardless of the force applied when pressing on the base of the bottle (even with strong pressure).

Metal valves and other parts of the container in contact with the solution are partially coated with a thin layer of silver, which, along with the complete sealing of the container, guarantees additional sterility of the drug. The absence of preservatives in the composition of VID-KOMOD eye drops eliminates their undesirable effects on eye tissue and ensures good tolerability of the product even with long-term use.

Indications and contraindications for use

Moisturizing the anterior part of the organ of vision (conjunctiva, cornea) is the main indication, which is indicated in the instructions for use. Most often, the organ of vision requires additional moisture in the following cases:

  • wearing contact lenses of a hard or soft structure;
  • long-term stress on the organ of vision (working at a computer monitor, driving a car, watching TV for a long time);
  • exposure to adverse external factors (being in a smoky or dusty room, wind, cold, ultraviolet radiation, etc.).

All of these phenomena negatively affect the condition of the eyes. As a result, discomfort occurs in them: dryness, itching, burning, foreign body sensation. Unpleasant symptoms can be easily relieved with the eye remedy Vid-Komod.

Individual intolerance to the components of the ophthalmic solution is the only contraindication when the drops are not suitable for therapy.

Eye drops URSAPHARM (Germany) Vid-Komod 10 ml (Povidone)

A terrifying, terrible, disgusting bottle, that’s the first thing I want to say about these drops! It just boiled)))

And now in more detail. Although I don’t wear contact lenses or glasses, my eyes still sometimes need additional hydration. When you work/sit at a computer for a long time, then there is also the phone screen, and TV, and so on... in general, the eyes get tired and standard, well-known to many, unpleasant sensations appear:

-dryness in the eyes, feeling of sand in the eyes, redness of the eyes

While being checked by an ophthalmologist, I asked him to recommend some drops that were as harmless as possible, so that not like Visin (we “treat” redness of the eyes, but cripple the eye itself), but something really useful. An ophthalmologist advised me to use Vid-komod drops. The name amused me (what is their advertising slogan, I wonder, “you will see the chest of drawers better”?))), but I decided to try it and bought them.

I want to warn you right away that if you buy these drops, do not take analogues, there are several of them and they all have the word “chest of drawers” in the name, and they are much more expensive. So, a Vid-chest of drawers costs on average 300-350 rubles, a Hilo-chest of drawers costs 500-600 rubles, and a Hilomax-chest of drawers also costs 500-700 rubles. The difference is obvious!

So, what does the manufacturer promise us and what do these drops actually contain:

Compound

Main active ingredient: povidone - 20.0 mg;

Additional substances: sorbitol, sodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, water

Indications for use

Additional hydration of the front surface of the eye, elimination of discomfort due to dry eyes, foreign body sensation, burning sensation in the eyes, which arise due to exposure to environmental factors, prolonged visual stress, and wearing contact lenses.

In general, both in terms of description and composition, everything is fine. Does not contain preservatives - super, why pour preservatives into your eyes! There are no heaps of unclear components - great! Everything seems to be fine, and the saddest thing about these drops is the packaging...

Most eye drops are produced in simple packaging - tilt it and a drop comes out. But not the chest of drawers. These guys decided that it was too easy for them, or I don’t know what they decided... The drop package is made of hard plastic and in order to squeeze a drop into the eye, you need to press the PUMP, which is located at the bottom. This is terribly inconvenient.

Firstly, the pump is quite “tight” and I personally have difficulty pressing it with one hand while holding the edge of the eyelid with the other. Secondly, the drop seems to shoot into your eye, the pump gives it a slight acceleration, and this is not very pleasant. Thirdly, despite the manufacturer’s assurances that such packaging allows squeezing out the same volume of drops, what I get is either a small drop or a large one. So the meaning of such packaging is not clear and inconvenient.

In terms of effectiveness, I can say that the drops are good, there is an effect, the eyes are not red, there is no “sand” in the eyes, they get less tired. But will I buy them again? Hardly. For such a price they are too painful to use. In case of further need for drops, I will probably return to Slezin drops - they are cheaper and the packaging is more convenient, but the effect is the same. Or “Sistey Ultra” - the same price, but again much more convenient!

Method of application (dosage regimen, method)

The sterile Vid-Komod solution is intended for topical use only, by introducing it into the conjunctivitis sac. The dosage regimen is described in detail in the instructions. The standard regimen is 1-2 drops into each conjunctivitis sac up to 4 times a day. If necessary, the frequency of instillations can be increased, but not more than 10 times in essence. The dosage regimen is determined by the ophthalmologist or the patient independently, taking into account their own feelings.

There are no restrictions on the duration of use of Vid-Komod drops. If no positive effect is observed within 2 days of starting to use the drug, you should consult a doctor to determine the cause and select another remedy.

The special Chest of drawers system requires a special application. Before first use, turn the bottle with drops upside down and press on it several times. Pressure is applied until the first drop of the drug appears at the tip of the bottle. Instillation must be carried out quickly and rhythmically, pressing on the tube. Then the eyes are closed so that the ophthalmic solution is evenly distributed over the surface of the cornea. After the procedure, the bottle is closed. During instillation, contact of the dropper with the mucous membrane of the eye and any other surfaces should be avoided.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

When using Vid-Komod solution together with other ophthalmic drugs, an interval of at least 30 minutes should be maintained between instillation of Vid-Komod and the use of eye drops. Eye ointments should be used after instillation of the Vid-Komod solution.

The Chest of drawers system is intended for individual use only.

Thanks to the special design of the reservoirs and valves of the container in which the solution is placed, there is no penetration of air from the outside, the same size and speed of extraction of the drop, regardless of the degree of force applied.

The metal parts and valves of the container in contact with the solution are partially coated with a thin layer of silver, which, together with the absolute tightness of the system, ensures the sterility of the solution in the absence of preservatives.

Before each instillation of the Vid-Komod solution, you need to remove the colored cap covering the container dropper. Before using the Vid-Komod for the first time, you need to turn the container with the dropper down and press on its base several times until the first drop of solution appears at the tip of the dropper. After this, the dropper is ready for use.

When instilling the Vid-Komod solution, you must hold the container with the dropper down, quickly and vigorously pressing on its base. This way, only one drop of solution is extracted. After completing the procedure, you need to tightly put a colored cap on the dropper.

When instilling the Vid-Komod solution, avoid contact of the tip of the dropper with the surface of the eye and skin.

  • Systane;
  • Ophtolic;
  • Natural tear;
